Gov. Charlie Crist, of Fla., celebrated Hanukkah’s first night. Gov. Crist’s mansion in Tallahassee had a menorah lighting ceremony. The first candle on the menorah was lighted as according to tradition.

Hanukkah began on Sun. night, Dec. 21. Hanukkah lasts 8 days. This was Mrs. Crist’s first public debut as the first lady after her marriage on Dec. 12 to Gov. Charlie Crist. Ms. Carole Rome/ Mrs Charlie Crist is a Jew.
