Jan 4 2009 – Hans Reiser was sentenced in Sept. 2008, for the murder of Nina Reiser, his estranged wife. Hans Reiser’s case made history because he was charged with murder without a body being found. Reiser was featured in “48 Hours Mystery.”

Reiser faced 25 years to life in prison for first degree murder but the prosecutor allowed Reiser to plead guilty to a lesser charge. Reiser had to show investigators where Nina Reiser was buried. It was believed that Nina Reiser was killed so that Hans Reiser could gain custody of the two children. Hans Reiser has to serve 15 years to life in prison for the lesser charge of second degree murder.

Hans Reiser was sentenced to 15 years to life for the murder of Nina Reiser, his wife. Nina Reiser was killed 2 years ago.

Han Reiser agreed to lead investigators to the location where Nina Reiser’s body was. He agreed to co-operate to get a lesser charge. Nina Resier’s mother, Irina Sharanova, has custody of her children and took them to her native Russia in 2006.

Hans Reiser lead William Du Bois, his lawyer, and police to a spot where his wife, Nina Reiser,  was buried. It was around Oakland Hills.

Nina Reiser went missing after Sept 3 2006. Nina Reiser was last seen at her husband’s home as she dropped off their 2 children for a visit. Nina Reiser had worked as an obstetrician.
