Grant Barney, 22, formerly of Utah State University Sigma Nu fraternity member, pleaded guilty to a charge of obstructing justice. This charge is related to the death of Michael Starks, USU freshman. Starks died on Nov 2008. Barney will be sentenced on April 20.

Michael Starks, 18, died on Nov 21. Starks was hazed by sorority women who painted his body and forced vodka on him. Sigma Nu fraternity and Chi Omega sorority members were involved in the hazing of Starks. Starks had a reading of .373 blood alcohol. That is greater than 4 time the legal limit for driving.

Prosecutors in Cache County have filed felony hazing charges against the 2 fraternities. Twelve fraternity members face misdemeanor charges. Cecily Kiss had her charge dropped.
