Gordon Pugh, a lawyer and university alumnus member, committed suicide. Pugh died on Monday, July 20. Pugh was on the levee near Skip Bertman Drive and LSU Veterinary School when he shot himself.

Pugh was found dead at the scene on Monday, 6:45 pm. Pugh’s cause of death was a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.

Gordon Pugh was a lawyer at Breazeale, Sachse & Wilson law firm. Pugh had been working there for 43 years. In 2008, Pugh’s son, Gordon Pugh Jr, died after committing suicide.
