Goblin Shark: Real Goblin Shark
By Angie Anthony on August 21st, 2008The Goblin Shark looks scary. The Goblin Shark looks like a prehistoric sea creature. The scientific name for the Goblin Shark is “Mitsukurina owstoni.” The Goblin Shark belongs to the Mitsukurinidae family of sharks. This sounds like the Japanese name for Goblin Shark. Would anyone want to eat the Goblin Shark if it is caught?
Goblin Shark:
The Goblin Shark has a long beak cum snout. Goblin sharks are found pink in color. However, due to the lighting conditions of the oceans, the photos of the Goblin Shark may show them to be of different colors.
Pictures show the Goblin Shark to have big jaws that can extend and retract. The home of the Goblin Shark is in the dark depths of the sea. Sunlight does not reach the depth of 200 meters, where the Goblin Shark loves to reside. Japan has plenty of these Goblin Sharks. There are Goblin Sharks in other parts of the world too. Goblin Shark feed on squid, fishes and even crabs with their hard shells. Although Goblin Sharks exist, they are smart to evade capture so very little is known about them. The Goblin Shark has a weird “horn” like thing in front of its head. The Goblin Shark has a “unicorn” horn like structure that looks funny.
What do you think of the Goblin Shark? It is more real than the Montauk Monster or Bigfoot. Does anyone think the Goblin Shark is fake? Do you think there is a predator for this Goblin Shark?
