Joseph Sullivan, of Gloucester High School, has resigned as the principal of the school. Joseph Sullivan said that he lacked the trust, confidence and respect of the Mayor and superintendent. Joseph Sullivan was quoted in Time magazine for saying that some teens made a pact to get pregnant.

Time magazine’s June 2008 issue quoted Joseph Sullivan as saying that at least 50% of the 17 school girls who became pregnant did so because of their agreement, or pact. Joseph Sullivan denied using the word “pact.” Joseph Sullivan clarified that he believed some pregnancies were intentional.
