Gloria Steinem Sarah Palin: Oprah Winfrey Show Steinem

Gloria Steinem, a feminist writer for LA Times, used to criticise Alaska Govenor Sarah Palin. Oprah Winfrey, in “The Oprah Winfrey Show: Post Election”, has mentioned Gloria Steinem.

Oprah Winfrey’s own political panel of her advisors included CNN commentator and White House veteran David Gergen, Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.), feminist Gloria Steinem, Afro-American studies professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. and columnist Peggy Noonan.

Gloria Steinem had said that she thought Palin was a temporary benefit (for the Republicans) because she received plenty of attention. Gloria Steinem said that Palin was ridiculed as her policies, action and inexperience became clear. Steinem labelled Palin’s candidacy “an insult.” However, those who like Palin found her real. (real and like themselves).

As a feminst, Steinem did not want to be the first to cast a stone, or be among those who threw stones so she added that she felt bad about the way Palin wa s ridiculed. (Steinem in Washington Post).

New York Post said Gloria Steinem mentioned women did not support Palin because she did not think like them.
