Gloria Squitiro: Squitiro & Mark Funkhouser depositions on Ruth Bates

Gloria Squitiro, the wife of Mayor Mark Funkhouser, had to give testimony in a deposition. Gloria Squitiro’s testimony was part of a trial. Ruth Bates was a former aide of the mayor Mark Funkhouser. Bates claimed she suffered racial and sexual discrimination, harassment and retaliation while working in the mayor’s office. Ruth Bates has filed a lawsuit.

Mark Funkhouser testified in his deposition that Ruth Bates did not mention her allegations of abuse.

Gloria Squitiro admitted she sometimes used innocent sexual innuendo. Squitiro said it was used as humor in the mayor’s office. Squitiro denied using racist or inappropriate language. Squitiro claimed she was raised not to use racist names on people. Mark Funkhouser defended his wife and said that in all of his 30 years with Squitiro, he has never heard her use a racial slur on anyone.
