Glen Ciano hit by Jose Borbon: Borbon – Ciano car crash

Glen Ciano, a police officer from Suffolk County, was killed in a car crash. Jose Borbon, of Plainview, drove his car into Ciano’s squad car at Venderbilt Motor Parkway and Commack Road in Commack at 4:15 am, Sunday, Feb 22.

Jose Borbon was charged with DWI. Borbon had chalked up a DWI less than 2 months ago.

Ciano was turning left when Borbon hit his car broadside. Ciano’s vehicle spun around and hit a utility pole. The squad car caught fire and there was an explosion. There was no time for anyone to pull Ciano out.

Ciano had twins and lived in Bayport. Ciano is survived by his wife, twin children, and parents.
