Giuseppe Setola, Italy’s wanted Mafia fugitive, escaped capture by climbing into a trap door of a sewer. Police raided Setola’s secret hideout in south Italy on Mon., Jan 12.
Local Carabinieri police and divers were hot in pursuit of Setola inside the sewer system but failed to locate Setola and his bodyguard. Setola had escaped from house arrest granted to him because of his eye problem.
Setola is an alleged crime boss in the Neapolitan Camorra crime organization. Setola is on the list of the Top 30 Most Wanted Fugitives in Italy. Setola has been a fugitive since his escape in 2008.
