Germaine Dawson, a former footballer for the University of North Texas, was fatally shot. Dawson’s body was found near a car business in South Interstate 35E. Friday, March 27, saw the discovery of Dawson’s death.

Police were checking on a white SUV parked near the car dealer’s lot. Dawson was found in the driver’s seat. Dawson had one gunshot wound on his head but no weapon was found in his vehicle.

Dawson’s girlfriend reported to police that Dawson was missing. Dawson told her he was going to Dallas when he left on Wednesday night, March 25. On March 26, when Dawson failed to return, his girlfriend contacted police.

Germaine Dawson was studying in the University of North Texas. He was supposed to graduate in May 2009.
