Gerald Hall, 36, and his brother Glen Hall, 43, were arrested and charged with first degree child abuse. The Hall brothers of Clare, Michigan, were accused of burning the buttocks of Gerald Hall’s son, who was 6 years old.

Police have removed the boy and placed him in protective custody. The Hall brothers allegedly used a blow torch to burn the boy at least once.

Glen Hall was on parole after he served some time for a drink driving case in 2003. Glen Hall, being a habitual offender, could be sentenced to one and a half times of usual sentence recommended for the offence.

The Hall Brothers were detained in the Clare County Jail on a bond of $150,000. The hearing has been scheduled on May 5.
