Updated May 15 2009 – George Zinkhan’s son from an earlier marriage had arranged for a shipping mortuary service company to pick up Zinkhan’s body. No other information was available on this.

Updated May 9 – Authorities have confirmed that George Zinkhan’s remains were found in the woods. Officials said they would release details on the cause of death and whether any suicide note was found on Zinkhan. The press conference is scheduled on Tuesday. Authorities would then disclose more information on George Zinkhan.

Zinkhan’s mother has been informed of the news. She had nothing to comment on this matter.

George Zinkhan may have been found dead. A male body resembling Zinkhan was found 1.3 miles away from his abandoned jeep. Zinkhan’s body was hidden by brush and dirt. Police said Zinkhan’s body was apparently hidden from sight intentionally. Zinkhan or someone else may have done it. Zinkhan’s two guns were found near the body. Police refused to confirm the remains belonged to George Zinkhan but are waiting for an autopsy to confirm the identity.

George Zinkhan, 57, is a person of interest in a shooting incident at a community theater, near the University of Georgia. George Zinkhan is wanted by police. Police found three people dead at around 12:30 noon Saturday. Three more people were injured.

There was a fund raising event at the theatre on Saturday morning. The fundraiser was for a Sherlock Holmes production.

The victims of the shooting were Tom Tanner, Ben Teague and Zinkhan’s ex-wife, Marie Bruce. Marie Bruce is a professor in family law. Tom Tanner is a PhD holder in economics associated with Clemson University. Ben Teague worked as an interpreter.

Zinkhan has been a professor at the University of Georgia, Athens, 70 miles east of Atlanta, Georgia. Zinkhan, a professor in marketing, may be connected to the fatal shooting of three people on Saturday, April 25.

Police have not released information on the motive for the killings. They think Professor Zinkhan is associated with at least one of the dead victims.

The University of Georgia said Prof. Zinkhan taught in the Terry College of Business. Zinkhan had a good academic record.

Zinkhan had argued with at least one victim before he returned to confront the three with his two guns. Zinkhan had his young children in his car before he opened fire. Zinkhan then drove away. Zinkhan dropped off his two young children at a neighbor’s house in Bogart. Zinkhan told the neighbors he needed them to watch his kids for one hour before he disappeared. Zinkhan told the neighbor he had an emergency. Zinkhan’s daughter, 10 years old, could only say there was something to do with a firecracker.
