Christiane Amanpour is leaving ABC News “This Week” on Sunday mornings. Her replacement will be George Stephanopoulos.
He used to host This Week, until it was given to Amanpour in August 2010. He has been given an extra post, while remaining as the anchor host of Good Morning America. Presently, Stephanopoulos is on a break and is expected to resume work on Jan 8, 2012.
Amanpour continues to work for ABC, as their global news anchor. Amanpour also has a news show on CNN. She has been more successful in international news reporting, than in American news shows. Amanpour was born in Iran and although she has been entrenched in the news scene, she did not prove to be popular in American news.
