George Bush welcomed the Pope but not Gordon Brown at the airport -photos
By Clarencia Cynrae on April 16th, 2008Gordon Brown’s visit to the US is overshadowed by the Pope Benedict XVI’s first official visit to the U.S. Gordon did his homework and prepared a crticism on Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe but that fell into the shadow of the Pope. The Pontiff just had his 81st birthday.
Gordon Brown alone at JFK Airport, NY. None came to welcome him.
The timing of Gordon Brown’s visit was arranged by the White House. It could be a retaliation for his cool reception of President George Bush in the summer of 2007 when they met at Camp David. George Bush is the type that would return tit for tat.
Gordon Brown had appeared on air in Good Morning America and American Idol but has made little impression.
