George Banks saved from execution
By Therese Lisieux on September 9th, 2008George Banks killed thirteen people in a shooting spree in north east Pennsylvania, in 1982. There were two trials to decide if George Banks should be executed for his crimes.
George Banks killed five of his children among the thirteen that were fatally shot. Judge Michael Conahan agreed with Banks’ defense lawyers that Banks was and is psychotic and incapable to understand his death sentence or participate in his defense. On Monday, Sept. 8, Judge Conahan issued the ruling that George Banks is mentally ill and can not be executed. George Banks is not competent enough to be executed.
