I plan to watch. It was the last movie Heath Ledger was working on before his untimely & tragic death. This film will go down in history as the last effort of Heath Ledger.

Angie,
MY FAV FEMALE ACTRESS, well, that’s a hard one, as I don’t watch a lot of movies… Uma Thurman, living and working, out of the past, Sophia Loren…
My nephew and his girl friend saw Wanted couple of days ago; both said it was the best action flick they had seen in years… these are 20 somethings who watch all the latest horror and Action movies as they come out…
As for Sex and the City movie, heard some good reviews on it… after a few males based it… so will probably get it to just satisfy my curiosity and sense of fairness ;)as I understand it, the premise is more about female empowerment, and coming to terms with their lives… something that might not go down well in a lot of the world…

David,
The collection of what I watched since this site began is in Movies. I write them in the aftermath. I don’t have a favorite actress/ actor. many films have beautiful cinematography. It is tough to choose a favorite. The last one I saw was Incredible Hulk.

Dear Angie, WOW, if I comment on CBI now I’ll blow it… anyway, speaking of things nefarious, have downloaded a verrrry bad copy of JAANE TU YA JAANE NAH, going to watch it now, tell you what I think later…

well, it is intermission time… obviously someone got a copy from the cinema… so far I have been able to follow 75% of the plot, and almost 10% of the script… but hey, it’s all good, as my kids would say… had also got a cd of the songs from the movie on the weekend… listened to it several times now… and the movie makes sense of the songs… in short, I am enjoying this, lots of laughter here… will watch it again… and so far would give it two thumbs up… in other words, highly recommended, to anyone but hard core action fans… no fighting ;0
two things though… the mother of J. seems awfully young to be his mom… and I am sorry they didn’t finish the sequence where J. is dreaming of running down that army man… he was a nasty bit of work…

David,
Hi. The young people in the movie seemed to hitchhike quite a bit.

Hi Angie, was really touched by this article… and pun unintended… after all, these are still our sisters, and daughters, why shouldn’t they be treated with respect…
Mumbai Sex Workers Moved by TV Actor Anjan’s ‘Brotherly Touch’
Television actor Anjan Shrivastava has lent a soothing touch to Mumbai’s sex workers, on the occasion of the sibling festival of ‘Raksha Bandhan’.

hey i too agree after all they are doing for there existence in this stupid world of culture and tradition….which just shows up in dressing but not in their real means….atleast they are doing it openly and frankly rather than many people who are having a family and doing it secretly i.e maintaining extra marital affairs

Hi Deepti,
it is a sad fact that most of the girls and women who enter the sex trade, do not live well, and end up being sick, or under nourished… disease is just one aspect of their lives… those that live in countries like Austria and Holland, where it has been legalized and controlled, have better protection and lives than those where it is criminalized… we have seen in the past month, reports from Afghanistan and Iraq where women there have entered into the trade, so I would say, with a certainty almost bordering on arrogance, that there is not a country or continent on this planet that doesn’t have it’s sex trade workers… and I include Antarctica… it is as you said, “this stupid world of culture and tradition” that treats them as criminals… leave them be, protect them from pimps and organized crime, and control the men and women who go to them for sex… if they can have it in places like Afghanistan and Iraq, then it will always be around…

back onto the movie scene, some folks here, went to see Mamamia at the theater, Merle Streep playing the lead character… belting out the Abba hits like there was no tomorrow… there have been a few reviews in the papers here, and they have been mostly excellent… the people who saw the movie were thrilled by the performances and story line… my Brother and his Wife saw it in London last month, on stage and said it was as good… bottom line… you can’t loose on this one… take your main squeeze and enjoy some popcorn and memories… oh, and don’t dash out before the credits are over… that was a tip from my brother, but he wouldn’t say why…
July 20th, 2008 at 8:42 am
Dear David,
Thanks for the tip on Mama Mia! I used to listen to ABBA when I was a young child. (*blush*)
I watched The Dark Knight on Saturday. Heath Ledger’s Joker was interesting. I’m not superstitious but some said that the role did him in.

Regarding the article on the Mumbai sex workers -
The lack of jobs that pay enough might be a cause of why men and women resort to work in the sex trade. Of course, there are those who do it for the high living.

.
That was something good Anjan Shrivastava did.

Dear Angie, if you were a young child
when you listened to Abba, that would make you about 30 something today… although I know of a few people who refuse to admit that they listened to disco or anything but REAL RocknRoll
I saw an Abba tribute band a couple of years ago at an outdoor band shell, and it was great… loud and bouncy… will probably get the video when it comes out… seems the type of show that you take a girl friend too…

The Kids here (20 somthings)are waiting for the end of the month when they get some money together, to go see Batman… they are counting the days
as for the Joker… he has always been a sinister sort, in any of the media, book or video… I can well understand why superstitious people would say that… do you think that it is a movie suitable for people with pace makers
not that I have a pace maker… just wondering about that for some of the other people who come on here…
