A gay guy with beard is a gay guy who uses a “beard” to throw off suspicion on his gay sexual orientation. The “beard” can be a girlfriend or wife. The “beard” sometimes knows that she is being used as the gay guy’s decoy but sometimes, she does not know she is the “beard.” New Jersey ex-governor James McGreevey’s wife was a “beard” who did not know she was the “beard.”

On the other hand, a gay guy with beard may be keeping the beard to look more handsome.
