Gaetano Di Giovanni accused Naomi Campbell of slapping and beating him with her handbag. Giovanni said his injuries were severe enough to force him to seek medical treatment n the hospitral. Giovanni said he stayed in hospital.

Giovanni is a photographer who was on Lipari, an island, off Sicily, when he was attacked by Campbell. Campbell and her boyfriend, Mikhail Prokhorov, had arrived at Lipari, on holiday. Giovanni claimed Campbell scratched his eye and he was temporarily blinded.

Giovanni said he was saved from further assault when Campbell’s boyfriend and bodyguards dragged her away. Lipari police said no complaints were filed on the incident.
