Malachy Gerard McCourt is the younger brother of Frank McCourt. Frank McCourt, a writer, died on July 19, 2009.

Malachy McCourt is an actor, writer and politician. McCourt was the Green Party candidate for the governor of New York State. Malachy McCourt ran against Eliot Spitzer and lost.
