Frank Calloway was born in 1896. When he was diagnosed with Schizophrenia, Frank Calloway was admitted into a mental health center in 1952.

Frank Calloway has been living in mental health centers since then. There were no records of Frank Calloway of his life before he entered his first mental institution. Frank Calloway started drawing his art in earnest in 1980. Today, Frank Calloway is 112 years old and recognized as a great folk artist.
