Frances Elaine Newton lived from April 12, 1965 to September 14, 2005. Newton was a convicted murderer who has died. Newton was executed on death row.

On April 7, 1987, Newton allegedly killed her husband Adrian Newton, 23, her children Alton Newton, 7 years old and Farrah Newton, 21 months old. Newton claimed a drug dealer killed them. Newton had maintained her innocence right up to her death by execution.

Frances Newton had bought life insurance policies on her husband, daughter and herself three weeks before the deaths. Newton named herself as the beneficiary on her daughter and husband’s life insurance policies. To prevent her husband Adrian Newton from discovering about his life insurance policy, she forged his signature. After the murders, Newton allegedly hid a paper bag containing a gun in her relative’s home.

Frances Newton’s trial was not very well conducted. Newton’s defense lawyer had 5 misconduct charges against him. There were conflicting reports about a possible murder weapon recovered from the scene of crime. The jury were concerned some evidence was not presented during the trial.

Frances Newton appealed 4 times against her execution, Newton was denied. Efforts to save her were also rejected by the Courts.
