What repulsive disgusting pieces of excrement Frances Burt & her husband are. The kids were trained up to be the vile trash they grew up to be. No excuses for the so-called “parents”. When the time comes to meet their maker I hope they get the full flavor experience of Hell & all it has to offer. inexcusable vermin!

To Frances Burt and “family,” – To hear you’re not still locked up makes me sick. You deserved much more than you got and should still be behind bars with your own kind. People on the street see you and know just who and what you are, you filthy, nasty “human beings.” Frances, for anyone to use the word “mother,” in connection with you is to putrefy the word. When you lay your head down to sleep at night, I hope you squirm with the knowledge that the worst of your punishment still awaits. Oh yes….

I just saw the movie about the Burt family who was finally arrested for abuse, kidnapping, arson, and soc.sec. fraud, and more. I am shocked again, as I keep hearing stories of abuse and the lack of police intervention to save children. I am reminded all the time of the Joel Steinburg case in NYC and how little Lisa was abused. No one really investigated. I wish there were more regulations, and more concerned employees who care about rescuing children, victims who are so afraid to talk, who have been threatened by the adults in authority in the homes. And, when is our country going to make punishments more severe for child abuse cases? The Burts got suspended sentences, while the abused children are ruined for life, unless God intervenes and gives them peace.

I saw the movie “Family Sins” and was scared myself. It made me realize how great I have it with my family. I am 15 years old and that movie frightened me. To know that people actually get treated like that; and worse to know that there are people out in this world that actually do these things and treat others this way. It makes me sick. I pray for people who suffer those kinds of problems with they’re homelife.

Ray Burt was my landlord until 2 weeks ago and he is still dealing in real estate and renting only now he buys the house under his girlfriends name. The house i lived in had so many violations including lead, and asbestos. but apparently he is either friends with or paying off public officials in pawtucket in order to get away with renting environmentally unsafe apartments to people by obtaining falsified lead certificates and paying off inspectors to let these buildings pass. This man should have never been let out of jail and i plan on fighting my particular case with him in hopes that the corruption in Pawtucket is unveiled and he be put back in jail or no longer allowed to deal in real estate. He is an evil man who takes advantage of the poor, minorities, and young adults who he thinks don’t know any better. But I do and reguardless of the outcome of my case against him he must answer to God come judgement day.

Does anyone know the name of the judge who gave these horrible “people” such a light sentence? And why?
August 30th, 2009 at 1:52 pm
With all the charges against them – rape, arson, false imprisonment, etc. – why was so much of the sentences suspended?
September 3rd, 2009 at 9:37 pm
Really who was the Judge in the real life case and why only suspended sentences? Too bad real life didn’t follow the sentences issued in the movie

Having dealt with the “New England” court system, when it comes to suspected child abuse, they are sorely lacking. It is sad to know that because of the backward way things are done there, so many children will continue to suffer.

I have just finished watching Family SIns. Unfortunately sometimes where the justice system believes that they have done their job they fail the ones in which they are there to protect. It is enough to make you wonder why there is even a justice system in the first place because in reality there is no justice. The saddest thing of all is no matter what the Burt children have done they are not entirely at fault unfortunately they were well groomed by an overbearing demented mother. Psychological abuse can be far worse to a child than physical abuse and when you couple the two abuses together you will end up with a highly dysfunctional adult who will never be able to fully forget what the parent has instilled in them. It is believed that for every 6 months of abuse in which a child suffers it takes an additional 12 months to undo that abuse. I know that I may get nasty comments for this but I do not fault the children for being the way in which they are. It is the fault of the parents. They had innocent children until a demented mother corrupted them. I believe that with proper guidance and therapy they can change however, it will be difficult for them. It is a hard road which all of the children involved must travel. My heart goes out to the children even though they are no longer children but are now adults. I am glad to read about a book which is coming out which was written by one of the children. Perhaps this will help that person to heal. As for the mother I don’t think I will be able to find it in my heart to have any feelings for a person such as that. What she did was very cruel.

Well i did like the movie myself and it was really interesting too. I would love to see it again online but nobody has it recorded. I just want to see that movie again because i couldn’t really see it that well. But other than all of that, it was one of the best movies I’ve seen in my time. And yes, it is shocking to know that there are people that do those things and they could be living close to people you care for. But yes, it was a really great movie and if any of you have it recorded than please tell me or just post it up on here because i would love to see it again. Thank you

Oh and one more thing… I didn’t see the original movie for “Family Sins” But i did see the one Kirstie Alley played in. And let me tell you, she played a very nasty, heartbreaking character in the movie. She is a great actress, and Deanna Milligan is another great actress too. And that movie shows me what a child would do for his/her mother or father. And that really touched me as well. I know if a person would do that to my parents or somebody i cared about i would defend my family/friends so yes i would do something cruel to that person. Who wouldn’t?
