Fortin Augustin, the preacher and owner of College La Promesse in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, was arrested on Saturday, November 8. Fortin Augustin was charged with involuntary manslaughter. On Friday, November 7, his Haiti school collapsed.

It was suspected the weight of the school students and extra visitors brought down the second level of the school. There was a major celebration on that fateful Friday and an estimated 200 more people attended. The parents and guests of the students crowded the school. One hundred and fifty were injured on the day the Haiti school collapsed.
