Updated Oct 9 2009 – Mackynzie Renée Duggar was born and became the Duggar family’s first grandchild. Mackynzie Duggar will be featured in the show, “18 Duggars and Counting”. The special episode will be called “First Grandduggar” and aired on Oct 13, at 9 pm.

Joshua Duggar & Anna Duggar have not committed themselves to using the same alphabet M for the rest of their unborn children.

Updated June 15 2009 – Joshua Duggar & Anna Duggar have been told the sex of their baby. The Duggar family’s first grandchild will be a girl. The Duggar couple were guests with Meredith Vieira on the “Today Show” Monday morning, June 15. There was a special ceremony for the Duggars to cut a cake to discover the sex of their firstborn. The show’s producers had already known from Anna Duggar’s scan. The inside of the cake was pink, indicating that the first Duggar grandchild is a girl.

Joshua Duggar and Anna Duggar are expecting their first child. Joshua is the eldest son of Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar, the couple with 18 children. Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar will be having their first grandchild in 2009.

Joshua Duggar said they will name their children using the letter M, in honor of his mother, Michelle Duggar. Anna Duggar is due to deliver her baby on Oct 12 2009.
