Updated August 18 – Firas Alkhateeb, 20, is the anonymous artist who used a picture from Time Magazine to turn it into the Obama Joker picture. Alkhateeb said he is a supporter of Rep. Dennis Kucinich. Alkhateeb is a student from the University of Illinois.

Firas Alkhateeb said he used Photoshop to create the artwork of the Obama Joker. Alkhateeb then posted his art on the Obama Joker to Flickr, an image sharing website. Alkhateeb said he shared his artwork with his friends.

Alkhateeb said someone later added the caption “Socialism” below the image and it became viral.

Obama’s portrait was altered to show him looking like The Joker character from The Dark Knight. Heath Ledger had acted as The Joker before his death. The association of Obama as The Joker is not good. It carries omniscient warnings. There were attempts to block a major news site that carried a news report on the Obama Joker picture. Evidently somebody did not want the news and photoshopped picture to be seen.
