Ernesto Parra Valenzuela shot Robert Rosas: Valenzuela arrested for Rosas death

The border patrol agent killed was Robert Rosas. Rosas worked in San Diego County, California. Rosas the border patrol agent was gunned down in a hail of bullets while on duty in Campo.

Rosas was on border patrol duty Thursday night July 23 when he was fatally shot. Rosas was the 9th border patrol agent to be killed while in the course of duty since 2006. He was shot in his body and head.

Ernesto Parra Valenzuela, 36, was named as the gunman who shot at Robert Rosas. Jose Quintero Ruiz, 43, and his brother Jose Eugenio Quintero Ruiz, 49, and taxi drivers Jose Alfredo Camacho, 34 and Antonio Valladares, 57 were also detained.

The FBI had offered a reward of $100,000 for information leading to the arrest of suspects.

Robert Rosas left behind a wife, son, 2, and a daughter, 11 months old.
