Sep 15 2010: Terry Caffey is the star of a new show called “Final Witness”. The name is a kind of attribute to his family tragedy. Mr Caffey is the final witness of the destruction that has left his wife and two sons dead, and daughter Erin imprisoned until she’s 59 years old. Out of the ashes of his ruined life, Caffey rebuilt himself. He has a ministry to teach young people in their teens about the consequences of bad choices in life. Caffey has married again. He has a new life.

“Final Witness” plays on Tuesdays, on ABC, at 9 pm. Its premiere was aired on Sep 14, 2010.

Terry said he was initially angry with everyone for the changes in his life. terry was angry with the killers and Erin. Eventually, he found the strength to forgive them. The turnaround came when Terry found a page from a religious book. The page was charred by the fire that consumed his home. He could still read the message on the paper:

‘I have your life in my hands; I have a purpose for you, if you’ll allow me to do that.’”

After that, Terry Caffey became a changed man. He slowly rebuilt his life and found the forgiveness for the killers. Caffey even lobbied for them, to save them from execution. Slowly, the pieces of his life were put back together again. Caffey found a new mission in life; in his ministry and new domestic life.

Terry Caffey is a repair man working for a real estate agent in the day. At night, Caffey preaches in churches and youth.

The DA of Rains County, Robert Vititow, said that Terry was instrumental in getting reduced sentences for all the killers.

Terry Caffey re-married when he took a new wife named Sonja. He met Sonja at work. Sonja has two sons, Blake Doss, 17, and Tanner Smith, 9.

Terry Caffey said he has visited Erin twice in prison. Erin is studying, taking classes in prison, and adjusting to prison life. Terry said he would stand by her in spite of what has happened. He believed Evil was responsible for the deaths in his family. Caffey didn’t hold the young people responsible for killing the rest of his family.

Sentences for the killers:
Charlie Wilkinson received a life term in prison.
Charles Waid received a life term.
Bobbi Johnson received a term of 40 years.
Erin caffey received a sentence of 42 years, or until she becomes 59 years of age, before she can apply for parole.

Jan 3 2009: Erin Caffey and Bobbi Gale Johnson are accused of killing Mrs Penny Caffey, Erin’s mother, Erin Caffey’s 2 brothers and shooting of Erin’s father, Mr Terry Caffey. Mr Caffey survived the shooting. The deaths happened on Mar. 1, 2008.

Charles Allen Waid, 20, and Charlie James Wilkinson, 19, are two defendants in the same case. Waid and Wilkinson pleaded guilty on Nov. 7, 2008. Waid and Wilkinson face life in prison sentences without possibility of parole. Waid and Wilkinson agreed to be prosecution witnesses and testify against Caffey and Johnson.

Mrs Penny Caffey, 37, was shot dead. Mr Terry Caffey, 41, was shot but survived. Tyler Caffey, 8, was stabbed with a sword. Matthew Caffey, 13, was shot dead. The Caffey family home was set on fire. The motive was objection to Erin Caffey’s relationship with Wilkinson. Mr and Mrs Caffey allegedly objected to Erin Caffey’s relationship with her boyfriend and removed her cell phone. Wilkinson said this and also that Erin told him she wanted her parents dead.

Erin Caffey, 16 in 2008, was given 2 life sentences and 25 years. A plea deal was reached on Fri., Jan. 2. Erin Caffey could be eligible for parole when she becomes 59. Johnson received 40 years and can apply for parole after 20 years.
