Emma Ray had a heart attack about a fortnight after delivering her baby son. Ray, 34, lost consciousness and remained in a coma. Emma Ray was described as a sleeping beauty. Andrew Ray, her husband, spent 2 weeks at her bedside in hospital. Ray played tapes of their baby son crying and cried of their first born daughter shouting for Mummy.

Emma Ray collapsed after a heart attack caused by a blood clot. Andrew Ray gave her mouth to mouth resuscitation while waiting for the ambulance to arrive. The hospital managed to restart Emma Ray’s heart but she failed to wake up. The doctors warned Andrew Ray that Emma might become a sleeping beauty if she fails to wake up.

Andrew Ray’s love and vigilant care has saved Emma. One day, he asked Emma, on her hospital bed, to give him a kiss. Emma responded and her miraculous recovery was witnessed by doctors. Emma Ray was waking up from her sleeping beauty condition.

Emma Ray has to undergo therapy and rehab for her short term memory loss. Ray’s brain was affected when her heart stopped beating after her heart attack. Emma Ray has some distance to go on her long road to recovery. It has been almost 2 years since her heart attack in 2006 -07. Andrew Ray and Emma Ray are grateful for their miracle.
