Elyse Mamino, a teacher’s aide, is being investigated for trying to drown a newborn girl and the remains of another infant. Mamino, of Illinois, had the remains for more than 1 year.

Mamino gave birth at a party in Nov 2008. Mamino was at a house party in Columbia when she had labor pains and gave birth in a bathroom.

It was suspected that Mamino tried drowning her live baby girl. Someone in the house dialed police and reported the infant as dead. However, emergency responders managed to revive the infant. After investigations, authorities arrested Mamino and charged her for attempted first degree murder.
