By Therese Lisieux on November 4th, 2008

Edward Vrdolyak, former politician in Chicago, was convicted of plotting to take a bogus finder’s fee in a Gold Coast real estate deal. Edward Vrdolyak, 70, pleaded guilty. Edward Vrdolyak gave the paparazzi the slip by using a back exit. District Judge Milton Shadur approved of this.

Edward Vrdolyak pleaded guilty to conspiring to commit mail fraud, a charge that carried less severe punishment than the original fraud indictment. Michael Monico, Vrdolyak’s lawyer, said they chose that over a long, bitter trial that would bring more difficulties for Vrdolyak and his family.
