Feb 15 2011 – Debbie Reynolds and her daughter Carrie Fisher were guests on the Oprah Winfrey Show, aired on Feb 15, 2011.
Debbie Reynolds said she discovered her former husband Eddie Fisher was having an affair with Elizabeth Taylor when she called up the catress’ hotel room and Eddie answered the call. Reynolds said she heard Taylor’s voice in the background. After Reynolds asked Eddie to pass the telephone to Taylor, she wouldn’t take the call.
Eddie returned home from his New York hotel trip.
Reynolds said Taylor sought out Eddie after her husband Mike Todd died. Eddie and Taylor fell into the common trap of becoming too close in the shock of bereavement and mourning for Mike Todd.
