By Clarencia Cynrae on March 30th, 2009Earl Paulk was a bishop in Atlanta. Paulk died on Sunday, March 29. Paulk had poor health before his death. His hospital could not release the official cause of death. Paulk had fought cancer a few years prior to his death.
Earl Paulk had been the co-founder of the Cathedral at Chapel Hill in Decatur, Atlanta. Paulk’s career was marred by a sex scandal.
A woman employee of the church filed a lawsuit against Paulk. Earl Paulk pleaded guilty to denying his affairs with other women. Paulk pleaded guilty to lying under oath in Jan 2008. Paulk was the father of his nephew, the present leader of the Cathedral Church. A paternity test revealed this.
