Dustin Dibble: Dibble won $2.3 million for amputated foot

By Clarencia Cynrae on February 18th, 2009

Dustin Dibble, of Brooklyn, had his right leg torn off by a train when he was lying on the tracks. Dibble was drunk when he was on the railway track. Dibble was awarded $2.3 million by a jury in Manhattan.

Dustin Dibble sued the NYC Transit. Dibble’s lawyer said the train’s motorman/ driver had stop to halt the train when he saw Dibble on the track. Instead, the lawyer accused the motorman of assuming the object was garbage.

Dibble had worked as an investigator for an insurance company. Dibble’s right leg was amputated from the calf down. Dibble had a prosthetic foot fitted in place of his amputated foot but said it was tough to live a normal life with his condition. Dibble said the award would go towards his medical expenses.
