Drunken Negro Heads cookie: Drunken Negro Heads (photo)
By Therese Lisieux on January 26th, 2009Ted Kefalinos, owner of Kefalinos’s Lafayette French Pastry, in Greenwich Village, has been creative. Kefalinos created the Drunken Negro Heads cookie. Photo is below. It is a cookie decorated by a face made of chocolate topping and red cream. On Inauguration Day, Kefalinos called his Drunken Negro Heads as Obama Heads.
After the plane crash at Hudson River, Kefalinos created “Dead Geese Bread.” He questioned why nobody objected when he sold Dead Geese Bread and why people made a fuss when he sold Drunken Negro Heads.
Kefalinos said he is not a racist because he has a brother-in-law who originally came from Cuba. Kefalinos said Negro is not an offensive word because it is a French word.
