Dr Phil McGraw was rumored to have posted the $30,000 bond for the teen, Mercades Nichols. She was one of the 8 teens arrested for the group beating of another teen. His producer did the dirty work for him.

After Mercades was sprung, he shooed away the reporters, saying that the Dr Phil show had exclusive rights to Mercades’ story from now. Actually the judge had placed a gag order on the case.

The teens involved in the beating were:

Cara Murphy, 16; Britney Mayes, 17; Kayla Hassell, 15; Zachary Ashley, 17; Brittini Hardcastle, 17; Mercades Nichols, 17; April Cooper, 14; and Stephen Schumaker, 18.

The teens claimed that Victoria Lindsay, a cheerleader, provoked them.  Everyone had a story to tell.

The 16 year old victim’s parents are Patrick Lindsay and Talisa Lindsay.
