Dr James Fish, 90, fatally shot his wife, Phyllis Fish. Mrs Fish, 88, was terminally ill and had been sick for years. Dr Fish killed his wife and turned the gun on himself but he survived.

Dr Fish and Mrs Fish lived in Leisure World, a retirement community in Laguna Woods Village.

Phyllis Fish had a care giver who took her out in her wheel chair. Mrs Fish had a stroke a few years ago. Recently, Mrs Fish had cancer and was unable to be brought outdoors.

Dr Fish will be charged with manslaughter. Dr Fish faces 20 years in prison if he is convicted of the manslaughter charge.
