Donald Driver’s father, Marvin Driver, hospitalized after beating

Donald Driver, Green Bay Packers wide receiver, excused himself from his team. Donald Driver’s father claimed he was seriously assaulted by police in Houston and he required hospitalization. Donald Driver’s father is named Marvin Driver Jr.

Marvin Driver was stopped by police for outstanding traffic warrants. Marvin Driver was getting taken to jail but police beat him first being transporting him there.

When Marvin Driver reached the jail, he was unresponsive and had to be sent to hospital in an ambulance. The Driver family alleged Marvin Driver can not talk right now but he wrote notes to describe what he went through. The Internal Affairs Division of the Houston Police Department are investigating the Driver family claims.

Mike McCarthy, Green Bay Packers coach, refused to comment on the alleged incident on Donald Driver’s father. McCarthy would only say Donald Driver had asked permission to be excused but Driver was expected back for Mon.’s game in New Orleans. Donald Driver’s agent had no comment at press time.

The 3 police officers who were accused of abusing Marvin Driver have been taken off patrol duty while the case is being investigated. The family of Marvin Driver said they welcomed the news. Marvin Driver’s son, Michael Driver, said he wants justice for his father. The Driver family said they want the officers fired and charges to be brought against them.
