Don Cornelius: Cornelius arrested for domestic violence
By Clarencia Cynrae on October 18th, 2008Don Cornelius, ex-host of TV show “Soul Train”, was arrested for suspected domestic violence. Police went to the home of Don Cornelius after they got a call on domestic dispute. Don Cornelius was at home in his Hollywood Hills house.
Don Cornelius was taken to the police station and then to jail. Cornelius was booked for investigation of felony domestic violence. Cornelius was released on a $50,000 bail. He was ordered to attend a court hearing in Nov. Police could not release more information and Cornelius’ agent has not given the press statement.

Don Cornelius, the host of “Soul Train”, was charged with 3 counts of spousal battery, 1 count of dissuading a witness from making a police report and 1 count of assault with a deadly weapon. Don Cornelius’ charges stemmed from an arrest at his home in October and another incident.
The charges were filed by L.A.’s City Attorney. Don Cornelius could face a total of 5 years if he gets convicted on those charges. Cornelius, 72, is married but police would not reveal if the woman who was assaulted was his wife.

Cornelius pleaded no contest to misdemeanor spousal battery. Don Cornelius was sentenced to 3 years of probation.
