By Clarencia Cynrae on May 18th, 2009Updated May 20 – Aubrey Louis Berry, 23, of Snellville, is being held in jail on $1 million bail. Berry has been charged with the murder of Roderick Burton II, aka Dolla.
Dolla/ Burton’s stepfather is George Viera. Viera has been married to Dolla’s mother, Dawnee Robinson Viera, for three years. Mr Viera said he thought Dolla did not know he could be killed.
Dolla’s sisters are Divinity Burton, 22, and Sadenicole Burton, 20. The family gathered at the Viera’s southwest Atlanta home Tuesday, May 19. They were planning Dolla’s funeral. Dolla’s funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 23, at Murray Brothers Funeral Home, Atlanta. A memorial service will be held at Murray Brothers Funeral Home on Friday, at 6 pm.
Police are investigating to see if a fight at an Atlanta Strip club could have caused the precipitation to the murder. There may have been a dispute between Berry and Dolla one week ago at the Platinum 21 Adult Entertainment on Piedmont Road, Atlanta. This is unconfirmed.
Updated – Aubrey Louis Berry, or Aubery Berry, 20, an African American male, has been arrested as a suspect in connection to the death of rapper Dolla, aka Roderick Anthony Burton II. Aubery Berry, or Aubrey Berry, was arrested at LAX. Berry surrendered peacefully and told police he had a 9 mm handgun in his waist band.

Atlanta rapper Dolla, aka Roderick Anthony Burton II, was shot dead at the Beverly Hills Center. Dolla’s publicist, Sue Vannasing, confirmed Dolla was dead. Vannasing said Dolla was shot in the head around 3:10 p.m. Dolla and another rapper, DJ Shabbazz, waited in the valet area outside Beverly Hill Center.
Dolla was said to have some kind of argument with some passengers flying into LA from Atlanta. There were no details on whether this incident had anything to do with Dolla’s shooting death.

A man was fatally shot at Beverly Hills Center mall. Beverly Hills Center saw a commotion when the shooting happened around 3 pm. There was a lockdown at the Beverly Hills Center as police searched for the suspects.
One witness said he saw a female shooting using a handgun. Two suspects then ran away from the scene, towards Beverly Hills.
Around 5 pm, one person of interest was arrested. By 5:40pm, the second suspect was arrested. This person had driven away from the crime scene in a silver Mercedes. Police caught this suspect at the LA International Airport while trying to board a flight.

No matter what color you claim when you kill anyone regardless of whatever the issue may be you deserve to be punished for that. As AB’s cousin, I must say that Aubrey was a smalltime drug dealer, that’s some knowledge that I’ve gained recently.
He just lost face during a strip club fight. Dolla’s entourage didn’t gang up on him, Aubrey was getting a lap dance from this one stripper, his time with the stripper was about to expire, when Dolla stepped on the scene and the stripper along with others went over to him; leaving AB unpleasant because he didn’t get his all of his time w/ the stripper. From what I’ve heard a couple of days afterwards, the whole thing started when AB gave Dolla a men mug, one of Dolla’s friend asked him did he has a problem, and Aubrey started cussing him out. So it seemed like cuzzo started the whole thing, he should’ve just let it go. But he’s known to just hold on to things, he just won’t let things slide. I can’t really believe he went this far tho. Dolla was unarmed, and even if Dolla was talking mess to him, he didn’t deserve to get killed, and his other friends shot at. NONE of his friends were armed, there’s nothing that could’ve provoked him to KILL somebody. There’s no coming back from that. He pulled a coward move, now he deserves what’s coming to him. You Reap What You Sow. Hey Aubrey, or Aunt Aundrea, if either are reading this, I’m sorry for not supporting you all, but I’m just siding with what’s right, I’m not gonna be the devil’s advocate and say “AB was provoked” or “He’s Innocent” when that is not the case.
I’m just being as real as I can be, he deserves either life in prison or the death penalty. I won’t wish a final destination on anybody like “joeboxer” above.
It DOESN’T MATTER WHETHER OR NOT IF HE WAS A MANSFIELD CRIP, GANG MEMBER, OR WHATEVER, there where NO GANG MEMBERS IN THE VICINITY. Nobody deserves to be killed that wasn’t trying to kill you in the first place. If he was acting in self-defense, then he would’ve shot him once in the leg to warn him. NOT MULTIPLE TIMES IN THE BACK AS DOLLA WAS RUNNING AWAY.

robert berry i admire your bravery to stand up for what’s right. as soon as i heard the self defense thing i thought that was bull because neither dolla or his friends were armed. i didn’t even know dolla and this truly hurts me so i can’t imagine how his family feel. dolla was supporting his whole family off the music thing. watch the funeral pics on youtube it’s so sad to see a man so young and with such a bright future just lying there to never come back. for what?
