Updated August 28 2009 – There are photos showing the body of DJ AM being removed from his NY apartment in SoHo. Workers had a black colored body bag on a gurney and pushed it into an ambulance.

DJ AM Adam Goldstein, RIP. DJ Am, aka Adam Goldstein, has died. DJ AM, Goldstein was discovered dead in NYC today, Friday, August 28. DJ AM’s friend was worried about him after missing him for a few days. This friend failed to get an answer at Goldstein’s door and he was concerned enough to call police.

The Fire Department broke down the door and discovered Goldstein’s lifeless body.

Goldstein, 36, had prescription pills and drug paraphernalia in his apartment. A glass pipe used for smoking drugs was found in Goldstein’s kitchen.

Goldstein was lying face down, wearing only sweatpants and he was bare bodied on his upper half.

DJ AM’s friend said his girlfriend, Hayley Wood, broke up with him last week. Goldstein was said to be deeply affected after the split. Goldstein had been clean the past 9 years but the stress and strain from his broken relationship may have pushed him over the edge. Goldstein was also suffering from post traumatic stress from his plane crash in September 2008.

Adam Goldstein, aka DJ AM, filed a lawsuit for negligence and breach of contract on Tuesday, Dec. 23. DJ AM’s lawsuit named several companies and the estates of the plane’s pilots, in relation to the plane crash on September 19. DJ AM was seriously burnt after the crash.
