US Vice President Dick Cheney has been indicted on charges related to the abuse of prisoners in Willacy County’s federal detention centers. Former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales was also indicted on the same charges. The charges alleged criticism at Cheney’s involvement as an investor in Vanguard Group. Vanguard is involved in the private prison companies maintaining the federal prison centers. The lawsuit accuses Dick Cheney of a conflict of interest and misdemeanour assaults on detainees. Alberto Gonzales was accused of using his position to influence the investigation into abuses inside the detention centers.
