Diane Fedele: Chaffey Community Republican Women Federated image
By Therese Lisieux on October 17th, 2008*
Diane Fedele, the President of the Chaffey Community Republican Women Federated, explained she wanted to use food images to illustrate the food stamp (below) but she has retracted and apologized.
Diane Fedele said she is not a racist. Fedele said she randomly used some food as illustrations. What do you think? Don’t forget, Obama is half white.
An earlier post that elaborated on what happened with the issue is here -

I have NEVER before been ashamed of being a Californian. But, today I am. Of course, Fedele is a RACIST with a capital “R.” How could she possible NOT think that her crude, disgusting joke of a bill/food stamp would not be considered racist.? I’m even ashamed to be a woman, much less one from Riverside and L.A.
October 17th, 2008 at 11:42 am
OF COURSE she is a racist. to even ask the question makes you a dumb heffer. guts? humor? you’re so ignorant it’s sad. hey, how about you don a white sheet over your head and run around setting up burning crosses on people’s lawns while you’re at it. diane fedele is a racist ignorant person and so is therese lisieux for saying she had the guts and humor to create this image. dumb a—. get out of california. we don’t want YOUR kind here!
October 17th, 2008 at 11:44 am
I am really disgusted with Diana Fedele with her gruesome newsletter, trying to hide behind her pretend teasing. Women like her make me ashamed to be a woman. Diana F., shame on you. It is so abominable that you are a president of a women group.
October 17th, 2008 at 12:22 pm
Shameful.
October 17th, 2008 at 12:27 pm
Regarding Diane Fedele:
This is disgraceful. This woman is the filthy armpit of the Republican party. With the position she holds in her political community– you would think she would be a more responsible, upstanding, decent citizen. This trash she created is blatant racism. It is a shame what this country is becoming. I am certain there are many more like her in the Republican party. It is shameful. This moronic woman is NOT a true “American”.
October 17th, 2008 at 12:41 pm
i have been a conservative republican for 40 years. this is the last straw. thanks for ruining the GOP for the rest of us.
go OBAMA/BIDEN
October 17th, 2008 at 12:59 pm
Miss Diane,
Please, you are a racist. Look it up in the dictionary and you will find your picture right next to the word.
Maybe you should make sure your white sheets are bleached and the eye holes are bigger so you can see yourself how racist you are.
You should be made to walk around the Courthouse with a sign that reads ” I am a racist and a stupid one at that!” BTW, Is the Confederate flag still in your SUV???
October 17th, 2008 at 1:19 pm
I’m sorry you think that Fedele had “guts” and “humor” to post this offensive image. This was wholly inappropriate and does nothing but alienate people from one another.
I do not believe Fedele when she says she didn’t know about the connotations of the food items she chose. I think she knew exactly what she was doing in her quest to perpetuate this stereotype. I think this is one of those things where people will see just how far is too far.
Unfortunately in their quest to “push the envelope” people like her push people apart rather than bring them together which is really sad considering the current state of our economy. We should really be working together to make it through these harsh times not taking cheap shots at each other. For shame.
October 17th, 2008 at 1:22 pm
There is nothing funny about racism. The gutsy thing to do would be to acknowledge that sending that depiction out was wrong and nothing short of racist. The courageous thing to do would be to take responsibility for one’s actions and resign.
October 17th, 2008 at 1:23 pm
It’s people like Fedele that create hate in America. But we can stop her and other racists by condemning their vile and ignorant actions. Stand up to these white trash inlanders.
The farther inland you go…the scary it gets.
Whether it’s inbreeding or brain cell death from pollution, these ridge-runners need to crawl back into the trailers from which they came. Fedele and her racist Republican group represent all that is wrong with our country. But I’m sure they call themselves “christians”…they always do.
Scary if these uneducated elephants reproduce.
October 17th, 2008 at 1:31 pm
I don’t see guts. Only idiocy.
October 17th, 2008 at 1:51 pm
What an ugly human being you’ve revealed yourself to be Diane. For shame. Funny how most (if not all) of the unAMerican things which have occured in this presidential election cycle (and the last) have come from the side pointing the finger at others.
Remember, when you point your finger you’ve got 3 more fingers pointing right back at you.
What a tormented soul you must be.
God help her,

I have been to California and met some of the most open and fair people I can think of. This is disgusting and I’m ashamed to see that someone in such a position would sink to this level. Attached is the email of the San Bernadino Party which she is the president for. I urge you all to voice your opinion and how representatives like this do not represent us and will not get our votes.

I’m appalled that someone with education and influence in their community would stoop to such disgusting behaviour. However…there are two Americas. There are those of us from all walks of life and political beliefs who hope that America can rise to be all that our forefathers hoped for. a place of equality and freedom for all…and there are those who will constantly strive to make it a separatist society where only white, wealthy people are meant to reap the fruits of all the rest of our labors.
Thanks to Keith Olberman for airing this story. A simple apology from Ms. Fedele is not enough. Like Mel Gibson..her bigotry has been revealed for all to see.
October 17th, 2008 at 2:14 pm
It really isn’t necessary to plumb the depths in an effort to win an election.
I wasn’t aware that these sentiments were prevalent in the Central Valley.
Fedele, please do the right thing and excuse yourself from any position of power. Do the rest of us a favor.

I’m just thankful that Diane is an even bigger clueless, publicity-hungry loudmouth than she is a racist.
San Bernadino County – where she lives, and where this “club” is located – is very racially and ethnically diverse. In fact, the very club members she sent this atrocity to, included several African-American women.
Imagine being one of them, and receiving this.
And still, she and her famuly defend her.
Diane – Keep on digging your grave – and that of the current toxic edition of the Republican Party, girlfriend. You both can’t disappear fast enough.

There is nothing remotely humorous about this, nor is it gutsy. It is actually disgusting. To not think this would offend on so many levels is just ludicrous. Fedele should do at least one decent thing and resign immediately. There is no place for this in California politics or anywhere for that matter.
October 17th, 2008 at 2:57 pm
God,save our country and it’s people from ugliness such as this. Forgive them,Father, for they know not what they do,the people they hurt, or the country’s image they destroy.
October 17th, 2008 at 3:22 pm
I think anyone who says they do not know that those food items are not stereotyped foods for African Americans given by racist whites, saying this is the only food they can afford to eat chicken ribs, water melon and red kool aid, are the biggest racists alive. Then she tried to give a lame excuse as to why she did it. Barack noted that his opponent was trying to scare voters by pointing to the obvious. A person of a different race might possibly become President. And he wanted to counter that tact, but putting a magnifying glass on it. So that makes her want to be racist? She should be removed from her position. Once a racist is discovered, there is no room for them in any form of power in the community.
October 17th, 2008 at 3:50 pm
Even though I’m wise enough to know that you shouldn’t stereotype an entire race as a result of the despicable actions of one of its members, there have been times when I have almost been ashamed to be white. This is definitely one of those times. I had hoped, naively perhaps, that we had reached a point in this country where people would be ashamed to openly air these backward, ignorant racists views. I look forward all the more now to the day when Senator Barack Obama is sworn in as the 44th President Of The United States and all these racists slink back under their rocks to lick their wounds and we can move on into the 21st century and leave them back in the Antebellum where they so obviously belong.
October 17th, 2008 at 4:09 pm
As we can see, racism is alive and well in the US of A. The republicans are collapsing into a far right, xenophobic, racist, christians-only, english-only fractured shell of a party. America is about EMBRACING all cultures and ALL races and ALL religions but the Grand Oil Party just wants to spread FEAR and HATRED.
GO OBAMA!!!!!
October 17th, 2008 at 4:19 pm
Diana Fedele your ignorance producing the disgusting Obama Buck is unbelievable! The good point here is that more undecided voters may switch to Obama as a way to protest your dangerous racism!

I have been taught not to judge a person based on his or her race, religion, gender, or economic status. I have been taught to judge a person based on his or her actions. Your actions, Daina Fedele, speak loudly and clearly. You are a detriment to our society. You must resign from any influential position you possess. May God forgive you and may God give us strength to forgive you. May God bless this world to focus on togetherness, not hatred. May we unit as a humanity and not succumb to hate.
October 17th, 2008 at 6:53 am
It concerns me that people just put these kind of images out in public like there is nothing wrong with this. But, on the other hand, maybe we are lucky that this woman is this ignorant. It is the hidden hand of racism that is more dangerous than the idiots who come out in the open waving the flag all by themselves.
October 17th, 2008 at 7:49 am
Your action was stupid at least and racist at most. So you wanted to choose a food image, ever heard of apple pie? Your whole GOP party is disgustingly ignorant and out of touch.
October 17th, 2008 at 9:42 am
I almost think I’d rather be considered a racist than to be so absolutely stupid as to think I could convince anyone that I randomly chose fried chicken, ribs, Kool-Aid, and watermelon as food items not knowing that they were African-American stereotypes. This is one of the worst nonviolent incidents of racism I’ve seen in a while, and I’m from the South!
October 17th, 2008 at 9:58 am
For your daughter and husband to go on air and say they did not think this is racist is an absolute lie. I have lived around racists all my life and you can look at your husband and listen to him and hear/see the underlying racism.
And to say that only one person was disturbed by it is another outrageous lie. You should be ousted from your position and stay away from any public office. I always knew the republican party had some serious issues but people like you bring them to the surface and make the rest of us thank God we are not republicans.
October 17th, 2008 at 2:33 pm
I cannot believe what this woman did. Is she so stupid that she doesn’t THINK about the consequences of her actions? Or is she surrounded by so much racism that she cannot control herself to the degree where it is so BLATANT as this? I was informed that Inland was racist but now I actually see it first hand. I feel so sad for her. May God have mercy on her. And Republicans believe this is Christ-like??? She should really resign.
October 17th, 2008 at 3:34 pm
First things first…..everyone take a deep, very deep breath………Okay. Why are we surprised about this? This happens every day, hundreds of times a day across the country. It is a fact of life in America that poeple of color, be you red, black, brown, or yellow, you will be subject to some form of overt or covert racism at one point during your interaction with the average caucasian in this country. This is a FACT. This is the truth. This is America. I’ll try to be brief. (1) Europeans bumped into this continent and found people here different from their norm. The residents didn’t look like ‘em, didn’t talk like ‘em, didn’t smell like ‘em I imagine, and they had a slight military advantage, so what happened? They took that which was owned, washed it in the blood of it’s owners, thus cleansing it in their minds eye and claiming it as their own. They started in the caribe and as more of them came and stole what was not theirs and casually killed those rightful owners, the line of thought grew to be, “I am in control, I make the rules, I do what I want, this is mine.” And they haven’t stopped. (2) Mr. Crow….(jim) Someone mentioned Dr King earlier… a great man….How many men living or dead, have the ability to make an entire generation of people stop in their tracks, no matter what they are doing………… with the sound of his VOICE????? A GREAT man. Through his guidance and on his watch were made great strides for peolpe of color, the poor, the unlearned…..and this nation of entitled, self serving caucasians was rudely awakened to the fact that, we your former slaves, railroad builders, field hands, etc. were not going back from whence we came, so you needed to make room and let us make our way. And the messenger/ leader was killed in front of the world, and his disciples/ helpers ran and hid for the next twenty to thirty years until they felt enough time had passed and the danger was passed, and they could show their faces again without fear. And yes, some strides were made in those years. But the sheets were never put away. They were just sewn into white shirts, and worn in the banks, and on the stock exchange, and NASA…. (does anyone remember sally ride)…(or Shirley Chisolm)….?????Anyway, let’s close this, I’m bored. So we burned our cities at every slight, one out of four of our men aged 13 and up has a criminal record, (justified or not, teen pregnancies, welfare families, gang families, and I could go on, but all that to say this…….Those caucasians are terrified. They don’t know what we are going to do from one day to the next. We are still those savage, criminal, lustfilled, giant, negros, but we can be tamed with some fried chicken, watermelon, and koolaide, and this woman of latin descent knows all too well that what she did was going to be received in the way it was AND she knew she would get the reaction from those she offended, that she did……we only knew about rodney because it was caught on tape on tape, and deputy webb will get off because he was doing the work of these same caucasians when he shot that unarmed airman, but you can see what she did was calculated to inflame all of you and get this reaction from you. And it worked….and YES! she IS an idiot…..YES she IS racist…and YES, she has exposed herself as such….But a solution…. well, the one I propose would be perfect but would not be accepted by society….Thank you Dr. Lee for all the contact information…..and people, all the name calling and other stuff has no affect on this person…..she was anticipating this when she did what she did…..so vent if you must, but there has to be a better way to resolve what we are feeling about this than yelling at a computer screen in vain………ANY SUGGESTIONS???????????
October 18th, 2008 at 1:56 am
What is our best response? BARACK THE VOTE!!! TIME OUT FOR RACISM AND SCARE TACTICS. Go to the polls and show them that we aren’t afraid anymore and this land belongs to you and me! NOVEMBER 4, 2008, THE DAY RACISM WILL STAND STILL!!
October 18th, 2008 at 2:27 pm
I am disgusted with the lack of repudiation of this act from the Republican Party and Sen. McCain. Apparently he supports this vile, racist act. Watched the CNN interview with this sick womans daughter and husband. Clearly racism is alive and well in Upland, in the San Bernadano RNC and in the hearts of California Republicans. Stop talking about the south. The real racists are in California.

Diane Fedele is the quintessential representative, the poster child, of the Republican Party without the public mask of fake civility.
Abraham Lincoln isn’t only spinning in his grave: he’s changing his voter registration to Democrat.
October 23rd, 2008 at 5:02 pm
We as Americans should be ashamed that we have to include this woman as one of us. We always position ourselves as the greatest country in the world and yet people like this continue to embarrass us publicly. How can we ever stand as one country united under God with continued bigotry like this? If she insists that she was not aware that this would be offensive then she is a prime example of why bigotry, racism and hatred continue to prevail – stupidity always seems to be the loudest. It makes you wonder about the rest of the women who voted her president – before choosing a presidential candidate or vice presidential candidate – sufficient background investigations are imperative! America – we should have a moment of silence and pray for the unknowingly stupid, public haters, the closeted racist and all the benevolent bigots (what’s a benevolent bigot – one who brings iceberg lettuce and thousand island dressing to your potluck and demurely says “but isn’t this the kind of salad you people prefer?

wow everyone needs to get a life, she didnt create the images nor did she think they are racist the only ones who thought this ws racist, including all of you, are those who stereotype others into categories. by the way she resigned for herself and for noone else. i hope you all find peace and do not feel the need to call others name when you should look in the mirror.
