Derrick Yancey: America’s Most Wanted Derrick Yancey
By Clarencia Cynrae on April 7th, 2009Derrick Yancey, 49, is a former sheriff’s deputy who is accused of killing his wife and a laborer. Yancey was released while waiting for trial. Yancey had to wear a bracelet with an electronic monitoring device. He escaped by cutting himself lose from his monitor. Yancey is now on the list of “America’s Most Wanted”.
On Saturday, April 4, Yancey cut his bracelet and left his mother’s home in Atlanta. Bl Inc of Colorado monitored Yancey’s bracelet but failed to notify the sheriff’s office for some 12 hours.
Yancey was supposed to stand trial for the deaths of Linda Yancey, 44, and Marcial Cax Puluc, 20. Yancey said Puluc killed his wife Linda Yancey and he shot Puluc in self defence.
