Dennis Carter Sr fatally shot his wife, Donna Carter; his son Dennis Carter Jr; and his grandson; Mason Carter.

Dennis Carter, 50, was estranged from his wife, Donna Carter, who had filed a restraining order against him. Dennis Carter Jr, 26, and his son, Mason Carter, 2, died.

The gunman’s daughter-in-law, Amber Carter, is seriously wounded.

Dennis Carter Sr was from Baton Rouge, Holden, Louisiana. After shooting his family, Carter drove away on a highway, where he was spotted by deputies. Carter Sr killed himself when police tried to stop his vehicle. Police have classified this case as a murder- suicide.

Amber Carter is 6 months pregnant and her condition at the time of the shooting was serious. Mrs Carter has been hospitalized.

Another child in the same house, 16 months old, was unhurt.
