Denise Diane Philpott, of Sierra Vista, was convicted of having sex with a male minor at a group home. Philpott, 24, must serve 5 years in prison. Philpott has to register as a sex offender, enroll in counseling for sex offenders and receive mental health treatment.

Denise Philpott was working at the group home for boys. The home, in Sierra Vista, was owned by her mother. Philpott was working as a behavioral health technician.

Philpott was accused of having a sexual relationship with a boy living at the group home. On June 14, 2006, Philpott took the boy away from the home in Arizona. Philpott traveled with the boy and her own children to the Midwest. Denise Philpott admitted she took the boy across state lines and had a sexual relationship with him.
