Mike Coolbaugh became a coach with baseball team Tulsa Drillers in July 2007. Tragedy struck Mike Coolbaugh when he was hit on his head by a ball as he was standing in the first base coach’s box. Double-A Drillers and Arkansas Travelers were playing.

There will be a Mike Coolbaugh Memorial Golf Tournament at the Tapatio Springs Golf Resort in Boerne, Texas (near San Antonio). This special tournament will be held on November 8 2008.
