Deandre Washington, 10 months old, died. Washington was allegedly thrown on the floor by a boy, 12 years old. The teen and seven siblings live together with their mother, Tawanna Scott. Washington’s mother has three other kids. Tawanna Scott’s children and Washington’s siblings were left in the home while the two mothers went out. Police were unsure exactly how many children were home at the time of the incident.

Deandre Washington was thrown on March 12 and died 2 days later. Washington had two skull fractures and internal bleeding in several organs.

The boy was 12 and suspended from school fro fighting. That was why he was at home that day. It is legal to leave children home alone when one child is at least 12 years old. The boy is now in state custody. A judge ordered him to be held in juvenile detention.

Police said the boy admitted throwing Deandre Washington but his mother said he denied throwing the baby. Tawanna Scott said that if he did drop the baby, it was an accident. The other children said they saw the 12 year old boy throw the baby down.
