David Tennant: David Tennant quits Dr Who

David Tennant, aka Dr Who, has finally announced he is quitting at the end of 2009. David Tennant won the Most Popular Actor award at the National Television Awards. Dr Who won the award for the Most Popular Drama The BBC confirmed David Tennant will quit Dr Who for the 5th series, from 2010 onwards.

David Tennant gave a beautiful closing speech to thank Dr Who and everyone responsible for it. Tennant expressed his belief that he should leave Dr Who before he outstayed his welcome. Tennant, a Scotsman, has acted as Hamlet in the Royal Shakespeare Company production in Stratford. Tennant has shown interest in new acting projects.
