Brandon, a technician assistant in David Copperfield’s live show, was injured. Brandon’s last name has been with-held to ensure his privacy. Brandon was accidentally sucked into the vortex of a giant fan. Brandon and Copperfield were performing during “An Intimate Evening of Grand Illusion” at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

David Copperfield was about to walk through the rotating blades of the 12 foot high industrial fan. Brandon, in his twenties, suffered wounds to his face and his arm was broken in several places. Brandon had emergency surgery for his arm. Brandon had around 8-9 stitches on his face.

David Copperfield and his crew waited at the hospital while Brandon was having surgery. Copperfield said Brandon had worked with him for almost 1 year. Copperfield was all praises for Brandon.

“An Intimate Evening of Grand Illusion” was cancelled. The audience were promised full refunds. They witnessed Brandon being injured by the fan. Mary Murphy, a judge on the TV reality show, “So You Think You Can Dance”, was among the audience. Murphy said she was shocked when she saw Brandon’s accident.
